Ephesians 1:11-14 / Luke 12:1-7

There is a Chinese saying that "Though the sparrow is small, it has all five vital organs" (heart, liver, spleen, lungs, and kidneys)

It means that something small or compact can still be completely functional and contain all the necessary parts or features.

It is used to describe small apartments, compact businesses, tiny teams, or small cities that pack in everything a larger version would offer.

In the gospel, Jesus used the example of a sparrow to show God’s loving providence.

God feeds the sparrows even though the sparrows are among the smallest of the birds of the air.

Yet, in the Bible, sparrows are bought cheaply as a source of food for the poor people.

Still, God cares for the sparrows and does not forget them.

So, if God does not forget the sparrows and even cares for them, how much more will He care for us who are worth so much more than sparrows.

And since God cares for us and loves us, then we should not let hypocrisy creep into our lives and pretend that we don’t have enough.

And there is also no need to impress others or pretend that we have more than others

Like the sparrow, God provides for all our needs.

God holds us in His hands and feed us. Knowing that is enough for us to give thanks to God and praise Him for His love for us.
